SSI Video Weekly News: Fake Surveillance Cameras Exposed on San Francisco Train After Shooting

Security Cameras onboard the train did not product any images of the suspect committing the crime.

Welcome to another edition of the SSI Video Weekly News.

Surveillance cameras onboard the Bay Area Rail Transit in the San Francisco area were exposed as decoys after a deadly shooting on the train yielded no video evidence of the crime. As many as four cameras can be found on every train car, but the majority of them are incapable of recording.

Fortunately, images of the suspect emerged from cameras inside the train station, but there is plenty of outcry over the use of fake security cameras.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that working cameras are coming to every train car in the future, but the majority of them won’t arrive until 2017.
