Subways and public transit in general aren’t usually the most comfortable way to get around. You’re crammed in a tin can with strangers that may smell or be sick, yet you have nowhere to go until you arrive at your stop.

The last thing you would want is a crazy man threatening to set himself on fire. Unfortunately that’s exactly what happened one day during a commute in Chicago.

Surveillance footage from a subway train shows police struggling with a man who allegedly threatened to set himself of fire.

Eventually the man is able to set a can of paint thinner on fire, filling the train with flames and smoke. Police are able to escape with the man just as the train becomes engulfed with fire.

Typically when people rob or steal, they put on more layers to help disguise their identity. That wasn’t the case with one woman in California who was caught stealing packages from a porch in only a bra. Or maybe it’s just a new fashion trend that hasn’t made its way to the rest of the states yet?
