45 Members Attend ONVIF Development Meeting at Hikvision Headquarters
HANGZHOU, China — Hikvision Digital Technology recently hosted the ONVIF technical committee and technical services committee meetings at its headquarters here.
A total of 45 people from ONVIF member companies attended the event on March 15-18. During the meeting, attendees worked to develop a global standard for interoperability of IP-based physical security products.
“We believe that standardization is the future, especially in the IP surveillance world,” says Hikvision Int’l Marketing Director Tony Yang. “As the video surveillance market embraces IP, more and more companies are ensuring that their products conform to ONVIF.”
Axis Communications, Bosch Security Systems and Sony Corp started ONVIF in 2008. The group’s goal is to ease the integration of network security products with a global standard. It currently has more than 270 member companies and 650 ONVIF-compliant products on the market.
