Delaware Legislator Passes False Burglary Alarm Law

DOVER, Del.

Delaware Governor Ruth Ann Minner has signed a bill that would levy fines for repeated false burglary alarms at businesses and homes.

Residents and businesses are required to register their alarms with the state or a certified false-alarm contracting company. Police say the law will help reduce the growing number of alarms that aren’t legitimate.

Delaware is the fifth state to pass false burglary alarm legislation.
