Graybar, distributor of electrical and communications products and related supply chain management and logistics services, has achieved the top ranking in the Wholesalers: Diversified industry category on the annual Fortune magazine “America’s Most Admired Companies” list.

This is the sixth consecutive year Graybar has earned a place on the list, which is featured in the current issue of the magazine. It is the first time the distributor has attained the Industry Champion title, an honor bestowed on companies rated at the top of their industry category.

“Being named Industry Champion is especially significant because the industry continues to recognize our company’s strengths,” says Robert Reynolds Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Graybar. “We use those strengths to our customers’ advantage by helping them power and network their facilities with speed, intelligence and efficiency.”

Fortune magazine survey partner Hay Group selected the top 10 revenue-producing companies in the category and added the top-rated company from last year to compile the Wholesalers: Diversified category. They then asked directors, executives and analysts in the category to rate the companies according to eight key attributes:  innovation, people management, financial soundness, quality of management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, long-term investment and quality of products/services. The six companies with the highest scores made the list.
