Honeywell Video Systems Recalling Security Cameras
WASHINGTON
A dome security camera manufactured by a British company called Video Controls Ltd. of Cheshire, U.K., imported and sold in the United States by Honeywell Video Systems is being recalled. The recall affects 689 units of the ADEMCO Rapid/Dome security cameras sold between Jan. 1, 2002 and October 2003.
The camera’s plastic mounting assembly can crack, which may allow the dome and camera to fall from the ceiling. Honeywell has received one report of such a malfunction, but didn’t result in any injuries.
The recall involves serial numbers within the ranges of G01 (January 2002) to G12 (December 2002), and H01 (January 2002) to H08 (August 2003). The serial numbers are located inside the product, on a label attached to the side of the camera mounting.
Honeywell Video Systems says it will provide $35 reimbursement to installation companies making repairs to the camera’s mounting assembly. For more information, call Honeywell Video Systems at (800) 573-0154 between 8
a.m. and 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.
