Tyco Appoints New CFO for Its Fire, Security Division

PEMBROKE, Bermuda

Tyco Int’l Ltd. has appointed W. Mark Schmitz vice
president of finance for the company’s Fire and Security
division. As the division’s top financial officer, Schmitz
will report to David FitzPatrick, executive vice president
and CFO of Tyco.

Schmitz joins Tyco from Plug Power Inc., where he had served as vice president and CFO since 2001. Before Plug Power, Schmitz spent 22 years at General Motors Corp. While at GM, he served as vice president and CFO of DirecTV Latin America, where he was responsible for finance and operations throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

Schmitz succeeds Skip Heger, who retired from the position after 22 years at Tyco Fire and Security and its predecessor companies.
