Camera Technology Enables Focus of Objects Close and Far

Sanyo Security Systems of Chatsworth, Calif., introduces a new line of pan/tilt/zoom (p/t/z) cameras that use the company’s new Pan-Focus technology. They are the VCC-P9574N network Pan-Focus color mini dome and the VDC-DP9584N network Pan-Focus day/night vandal-resistant dome.  According to Sanyo, this approach enables a camera to maintain focus no matter if there are objects in the foreground or background.

Pan-Focus technology centers on a unique digital signal processing (DSP) technology built into the camera that makes it possible to take the original image and apply sharp focus to every object in the lens’ field of view. This makes cameras equipped with Pan Focus well suited for unmanned applications because manual focus adjustments are no longer necessary.
