AlertEnterprise at GSX 2022: Cyber-Physical Access Management & More

AlertEnterprise will highlight addition of Asset Governance to its cyber-physical access management platform, its visitor management platform and more.

Global Security Exchange (GSX) 2022 will take place Sept. 12-14 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta and via the online GSX event platform. Ahead of this year’s show, SSI spoke with AlertEnterprise VP of Strategic Channel Sales, North America Jason Alestra to discuss what the company will be showcasing at GSX, its value proposition for security dealers and more.

What is the top product or offering you are showing off at GSX 2022, and what makes it unique or special from both security integrator and user perspectives?

As security threats continue to progress, evolving the security sphere and closing any gaps is becoming more and more imperative. Asset Governance, the latest addition to our cyber-physical access management platform, is an integral part of that objective. Simply put, users can securely manage the lifecycle of each asset as it’s transferred from one employee to the next, using a completely automated system. Whether it’s keeping compliance in check or streamlining provisioning from hire to retire, Asset Governance helps both companies and integrators manage their assets with ease.

What other products or offerings would you like to highlight, and what are some of qualities that differentiate them in the marketplace?

Our Policy-Based Access Control (PBAC) solution takes access authorization from “all the time” to real time. Using their existing physical access control systems, companies can enable workspace access only when employees need it—down to the individual shift level. Without having to rip and replace, they can configure access according to their specific needs.

And yes, you can apply the same degree of security and safety measures to visitors as you do to employees — which is where Visitor Management comes in. This platform helps visitors use the technology they already have, accompanied by smart tools like intuitive self-service kiosks, to check into facilities in a smarter and safer way.

Lastly, our Identity Intelligence technology dramatically reduces the time and cost for detecting and resolving risk by automating threat protection across IT, physical and operational systems — all from one centralized hub. The machine-learning capabilities automatically baseline identity profiles, allowing it to quickly sort through millions of events to detect issues and trends and effectively respond to potentially malicious behavior and policy violations.

What else is new or noteworthy about the company as the end of 2022 draws near?

To further help validate and secure individual identities, AlertEnterprise recently partnered up with Sentry Enterprises, manufacturer of SentryCard, the leading biometrically authenticated identification card technology. With this exciting addition to our cyber-physical identity and access management platform, we can help provide an extra layer of validation for customers who need to deliver identification without question — think financial and healthcare industries, for example.

What is your company’s overall value proposition to installing security dealers/integrators? Why should they partner with your company?

There are currently major silos across divisions like IT, OT and physical security. And we’re the only provider that can truly bridge those — no coding required. This opportunity allows integrators to grow their business using existing systems and our Cloud platform.

Plus, we create everything with simplicity in mind. Since everything is Cloud-based, there is no heavy lifting when it comes to implementation. Every project comes with a 1-year support program; a project manager and programmer are assigned to help create things like use cases, data flows, implementation and testing. After a full year of training, we provide additional opportunities for support as an add-on ongoing service.

Cloud-based platforms that integrate with legacy systems also mean shipping delays and supply chain issues are a thing of the past. With immediacy of products and benefits, billing and revenue streams funnel in quickly. And the hyper-scale Cloud solution allows the system to easily grow at the user’s pace.

Looking ahead at 2023, what do you see as some of the top opportunities in the marketplace? What about challenges?

Identity-led security and cyber-physical security convergence are the hottest industry topics at this time and will continue to play a major role throughout 2023. We’ve created a powerful platform that integrates with existing infrastructure and doesn’t require custom coding nor the need to rip and replace.

Anything else you would wish to communicate to the marketplace?

When physical security and cybersecurity divisions operate in silos, they leave the door wide open for security threats of various magnitudes. Even the United States government has taken measures to eliminate silos with the new Cybersecurity and Physical Security Convergence Guide. Case in point, now is the time to start the journey toward convergence. Leveraging the systems they already have, organizations can seamlessly create a safer experience for their employees, contractors and visitors alike. We’re here to help.
