Genea Integrates with Milestone XProtect, Milestone Kite

The newly announced integration of Genea’s access control systems with Milestone’s X Protect and Milestone Kite allows users to scale their security systems, while adding high levels of efficiency.

BRONDBY, Denmark—Milestone Systems, a provider of open platform video management technologies, has announced Genea’s integration with Milestone XProtect and Milestone Kite.

The companies state that Genea has successfully integrated Milestone XProtect video management and Milestone Kite cloud native Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) with its cloud-based access control to provide users with a centralized security solution in a single pane of glass. With these integrations, IT and security personnel can easily connect and view their facility’s surveillance video alongside the corresponding access event, such as a door held open, or door forced open.

Milestone Integration with Genea Offers Users a Choice of System Solutions

Genea access control uses cloud-based technology to help IT and security teams monitor and secure their facilities. By integrating access control with video management systems (VMS) like Milestone XProtect and with Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) like Milestone Kite, users can efficiently respond to unauthorized access attempts and other emergency situations.

According to Milestone, its XProtect and Milestone Kite are distinct solutions that each provide seamless integration capabilities with Genea access control. XProtect is an on-premises video management solution, while Kite is a cloud-based VSaaS. The newly announced integration provides real-time confirmation of access control status with visual monitoring in Genea’s access control. The companies also point out that Genea’s flexibility with both XProtect and Kite extends Milestone’s ecosystem to give users the freedom to choose the ideal solution for their unique needs.

The Genea bi-directional integration with Milestone XProtect offers functionalities such as automated responses to alarms, remote door operations, including Lock, Unlock, and Quick Grant access can be performed from the Milestone Smart Client to Genea hardware. The integration also pulls lists of active users from Genea into the Milestone application, facilitating efficient user profile management.
