CAA Honors Westphals at Winter Conference

SAN FRANCISCO – The California Alarm Association (CAA) started its 2003 Convention in December with some passing from a former NFL quarterback and featured a tribute to one of the best-known families in the alarm industry.

More than 300 attendees gathered at the Union Square Crowne Plaza in San Francisco from Dec. 4 to Dec. 6 to receive updates on legislative issues and public safety outreach. In case any of the security professionals wanted to give one last try at a pro football career, former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Steve Bono gave a few tips in his keynote address.

The event was highlighted by the presentation of the George A. Weinstock Award for Lifetime Achievement to the Brothers Westphal. Roger and Bruce Westphal of Pacheco, Calif.’s Bay Alarm received a serenade by their mother Marjorie Westphal and 15 other Westphal family members.
