Dedrone Launches DedronePortable for Drone Detection On the Go

Dedrone counts the Ukrainian Army among its DedronePortable users, utilizing the technology to detect Russian Orlan-10 drones.

STERLING, Va. — Dedrone, a developer of airspace security solutions, introduces its DedronePortable all-in-one kit that offers users drone detection, tracking and identification capabilities all in a single package that can be used in mobile applications.

The company states that a number of militaries are using the new product, including the Ukrainian Army to deliver sophisticated machine learning functionality in a system that can be set up in approximately 20 minutes.

“Rapidly changing airspace security situations require easily-transported and -operational counter-drone systems, and DedronePortable is built to thrive in these hectic and/or temporary environments,” states Aaditya Devarakonda, CEO of Dedrone. “With its robust equipment and constant technological updates, DedronePortable is poised to play a key role in current and future operations around the globe.”

DedronePortable Offers a Host of Features

The company explains that its new portable anti-drone solution can be combined with its DroneDefender to identify unauthorized drones, and it can also provide deny and disrupt the RF bands used by commercial and military drones. Dedrone notes the kit also works across the GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, SBAS, and QZSS geo-location bands to help ensure that a range of drones, including homemade units are detected.

All of the key components necessary for drone detection are bundled into the DedronePortable kit, including sensors, power supply, cables, a laptop pre-loaded with the DedroneTracker and drone identification database, the company’s DedroneDNA and more.

Dedrone points out that its solutions are becoming increasingly popular. In the first half of 2022 the airspace security manufacturer launched DedroneRapidResponse, which it says can be deployed quickly to help to ensure uninterrupted airspace protection for more than a 3-mile radius (5 kilometers).

The company adds that its products work in 37 countries, including four of the G-7 nation governments, as well as nine U.S. federal agencies, including the Department of Defense, along with more than 75 critical infrastructure sites; 20-plus airports ,and 50 correctional facilities worldwide.

“We have been working closely with the Dedrone team and have reverse engineered the RF signature of the Russian Orlan-10 drones. We are now setting-up a network of sensors to further up-level our capabilities in the conflict zone,” notes a representative of Ukrainian military forces on the front line in Eastern Ukraine. “Dedrone has been a great, agile partner to work with in real time.”
