STI at ISC West 2022: Protect Electronics From Environmental Hazards

STI will be showcasing its portfolio of environmental enclosures, including models offered in polycarbonate, fiberglass or metal with optional AC/heat.

ISC West 2022 will be held March 22-25 at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas. Ahead of this year’s show, SSI heard from STI’S Michael Mikaelian, vice president of sales & business development. He discusses what the company will be showcasing at ISC West, its value proposition and more.

What is a leading product or offering your company is showing off at ISCW this year, and what makes it unique or special?

The leading STI product being featured at the 2022 ISC West tradeshow is our full line of Environmental Enclosures.

The emerging industry trend is to store and install more equipment outdoors. In many cases, climate-controlled environments are needed. STI’s durable and reliable series of Environmental Enclosures are the solution. The enclosures are offered in polycarbonate, fiberglass, or metal with optional AC/heat to help guard devices in harsh or exposed environments such as severe weather, temperatures, and the elements. Capable of mounting on the wall, the enclosures allow sensitive devices to be stored and protected almost anywhere such as: warehouses, storage units, freezers, outdoors, and more.

STI’s Environmental Enclosures are an immediate, easy, and necessary temperature-controlled solution with dependable performance to help protect electronics from hazards of the environment. The AC/heater is externally mounted to minimize space intrusion. The unit cycles as required, and a fan runs continuously to sustain a uniform temperature inside the enclosure. This helps prevent uncontrolled environments and the elements from wreaking havoc on electronics and equipment or causing damage and malfunctions.

Any other products or offerings would you like to highlight?

The demand for touchless access control solutions has become a priority with the emergence of COVID-19. The pandemic changed the way businesses, employers and building owners and managers view security and safety. One of the most touched surfaces in a building is a door handle. Using touchless access control technology is in high demand and is a simple solution to help reduce the spread of germs. To adapt to the “new normal” and post-COVID environment, STI introduced a complete line of NoTouch® IR Switches to aid in minimizing physical contact and decreasing the risk of virus contraction.

To exit or enter a building without touching the door, a user must simply wave their hand in front of STI’s no touch button. The active infrared is designed to detect the motion of a wave, send an electrical signal to the door operator, and unlatch the time adjustable door. The touch-free action reduces germs from transferring to hundreds of hands and surfaces, helping to promote health and safety. Models constructed of heavy-duty die cast aluminum or medical/food grade 304 stainless steel. They have dual color status LED (green/red or red/green) and an approximate 1.5~6 inch detection range.
