ADS Security Launches Remote Management Service
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A new service introduced by ADS Security (ADS) will allow customers to manage their security systems remotely from anywhere in the world.
Based on Honeywell’s Total Connect platform, users can access the Aniware virtual keypad on the Internet or with smartphones, such as the iPhone, Android or BlackBerry. With the solution, clients can check on the status of an alarm system and receive real-time alerts through E-mail or text message about alarm activities. The service also offers a remote video feature, which lets users view live video or receive video clips or pictures through E-mail.
A full year prior to its release, ADS tested the Aniware service to make sure it was a robust solution for its client base, ADS Security-Nashville Sales Manager Gerrit Brusse tells SSI. “As the security industry develops, end users are looking to be connected to their systems at all times,” he says. “It’s a convenience feature. Our customers have asked for this service, and we wanted to make sure we were positioned to offer that.”
Aniware is available to existing and new customers; however, ADS plans to target its customers who are early technology adopters, says Brusse. “It’s not a solution for everybody. A very targeted demographic looks for this type of connectivity, so we’re hoping to see a large-scale acceptance from that group.”
ADS will market the service through its Aniware microsite, along with sales promotions based on equipment discounts with activation of the service. Additionally, the company will launch an inside sales initiative to reach existing clients.
