Arcules Launches Cloud-Based Access Control-as-a-Service
Arcules says the solution enables customers to centrally manage access control across geographically dispersed business locations in a single, intuitive user interface.
IRVINE, Calif. — Arcules, an innovator of integrated video Cloud services, announces it now offers access control-as-a-service (ACaaS).
With the solution, Arcules now enables customers to centrally manage access control effectively across geographically dispersed business locations in a single, intuitive user interface, according to the company.
The Arcules service bundle provides video analytics, advanced video management of video surveillance data and access control information in one unified solution.
End users can correlate video surveillance data with access control events, associate cameras with doors, view the live status of doors and authorize access to grant or restrict permissions, all through the Arcules portal.
Arcules also integrates alarms across the video and access services. The bundle eliminates the need to configure multiple pieces of software to manage VMS and access control users and cardholders, according to the company.
The Arcules ACaaS is also available as a standalone Cloud service, providing the same interface, user management and access functionality, without video data or video analytics.
The Arcules ACaaS will support access control through integration with Axis Communications’ AXIS A1601 network door controllers.
Additionally, Arcules says using the service will allow customers leveraging Axis surveillance camera technology to automatically update firmware directly through the use of the Arcules platform, further enhancing the ability for an organization’s security infrastructure to remain up-to-date.
“At Axis Communications, we view access control as a core component of a comprehensive approach to safety, and the Cloud as a main driver in the next evolution of the security market,” says Alex Walthers, business development manager, Application Development Partner Program, Axis Communications. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to collaborate with Arcules to ensure close integration of our solutions and services to deliver a refined user experience that simplifies manageability, deployment and administration.”
Arcules made its debut in 2017, offering an integrated video Cloud solution that aggregates and analyzes video surveillance and IoT sensor data, identifies trends in that data and applies predictive analytics. The company had been teasing an access control solution for the past few months.
“Since our inception, Arcules has worked to redefine expectations for video Cloud services by helping businesses realize the untapped potential of the data available,” says Andreas Pettersson, CEO, Arcules. “With the introduction of access control and our collaboration with Axis Communications, we add another rich layer to our service enabling organizations to build intelligent infrastructure that drives informed decision-making.”
Arcules will highlight the capabilities of its Cloud-based access control and video services during ISC West at booth #31079.
