CAA Winter Convention Offers Diverse Educational Line-Up
The security industry’s largest state alarm association will host its annual wintertime event in San Francisco.
SAN FRANCISCO – The California Alarm Association (CAA) has a full slate of educational offerings and related activities on tap for its annual winter convention, to be held here Wednesday through Saturday.
Among a diverse session line-up hosted by subject matter experts are presentation titles such as “Using Facebook Within the Security Industry”; “Network Tools for IP Success”; “Alarm Communications Challenges”; “Cyber Security, Privacy and Your Contracts”; and more.
Following the general session on Friday, the keynote address will feature Darren Kavinoky, a criminal lawyer and TV journalist who is the creator of the television show “Deadly Sins” on Investigation Discovery. His “Be the Billboard” discussion will focus on what’s possible for human beings to achieve based on his decades of experience dealing with extreme forms of misbehavior.
Also on Friday, George De Marco will moderate one of the convention’s main attractions, the “CAA Executive Symposium: An Industry Outlook,” which features key industry thought leaders who share their perspective on where the industry is today and the trends for the future. This year’s panel includes Mike O’Neal of Linear and Larry Folsom of I-View Now.
On Friday evening, things turn formal for the annual dinner and ceremony to bestow the association’s George A. Weinstock Award for Lifetime Achievement and Service. This year’s recipient is Ron Lander, an industry veteran who currently serves as CEO of Ultrasafe Security.
Saturday’s breakfast buffet continues another CAA winter convention staple with the “Industry Incorrect” panel discussion. SSI Industry Hall of Fame inductee Les Gold will moderate the session, highlighting key issues that have been raised by attendees during the convention, among other issues in the news.
SSI will be in attendance and provide a full report following the event. For more information, visit caaonline.org.
