CSAA to Develop Video Monitoring Standards at ISC West

VIENNA, Va.

The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) announced a
new video monitoring standards subcommittee will meet
during ISC West. The committee will meet on Thursday, April
1 from 10 a.m. to noon in room 507 at the Sands Expo and
Convention Center in Las Vegas.

With no current video monitoring standards in place, the
committee will develop new standards for video monitoring,
including video quality; dispatch response methods and
procedures; central station configuration; video lighting;
coverage; and pre- and postalarm information.

The result will be the eventual creation of a standard
submitted to the ANSI process and incorporated into UL 827.

The inception of the committee, a follow-up to last year’s
electronic verification committee, was spearheaded by Lou
Fiore, chairman of the CSAA Standards Committee; Jim
McMullen, president of C.O.P.S Monitoring; and Richard
Hahn, president of Richard Hahn & Associates.

For more information or to join the committee, contact
Fiore at (973) 726-8300 or E-mail him at HREF=mailto:[email protected]>[email protected].
