The Greater Alarm Co. Inc., a security and fire protection service provider, is sponsoring the Orange County Explorers security program for the Toshiba PGA Senior Classic tournament. The event takes place Feb. 26 through March 4 at Newport Beach Country Club in Newport Beach, Calif. The Orange County Explorers program will provide the security and logistical support required to regulate the more than 80,000 fans that will pass through the gate tournament week. The Explorers program consists of local boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 21 who have shown an interest in law enforcement careers and volunteer their time with local police departments. In addition, Greater Alarm is providing security cameras, video surveillance and event monitoring in the Expo Hall and other high-traffic areas during the tournament, utilizing Pelco CCTV cameras and Internet monitoring services by Surveillance.com.

“This new visual monitoring and verification technology lets our customers view their homes or business from any Internet browser at any location. During the tournament, we’re setting up a ‘real-time’ demonstration of this technology in the Expo Hall,” says Greater Alarm President George De Marco. “Attendees stopping by our booth will be able to see live images of the San Francisco Exploratorium as well as the Greater Alarm office transmitted over the Internet.”
