SANTA ANA, Calif.
A big donation for a small voice, HSM Electronic Protection Services Inc. has offered a hand to the One Small Voice Foundation (OSVF). The funds will help researching optic nerve hypoplasia, which affects a child’s vision during pregnancy.
Optical nerve hypoplasia (ONH) is the underdevelopment or lack of development of critical tissue or an organ. It can cause complications for a child’s vision during pregnancy. These complications include sensitivity to light, altered depth perception and hindering of peripheral vision. ONH can occur in one or both eyes. Currently, there are no cures for ONH, but itis not a progressive disease.
The “Open Toe Shoe” fundraiser totaled $25,000 that will help benefit people with ONH. The silent auction was held at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif. The total funds tripled last year’s earnings for the One Small Voice Foundation.
