LEGIC Identsystems Extends Smart Card Technology to Support FIPS 201

CHICAGO

LEGIC Identsystems Ltd., a 13.56MHz contactless smart card technologies provider, announces its latest contactless smart card technology is compliant with the Federal Information Processing Standards Publication 201 (FIPS 201).

“Federal customers can now easily comply with FIPS 201 using LEGIC readers that are available through LEGIC’s global partner network,” says Klaus Klosa, managing director of LEGIC Identsystems.

According to the company, more than 200 partners worldwide offer compatible LEGIC all-in-one-card applications for access control, time and attendance, e-payment, parking, and e-ticketing.

LEGIC’s new technology utilizes HID iClass transponders, which can be read to allow easy migration from existing installations to advanced security systems. Also new is a wake-up feature for battery-powered off-line door locks, which can be activated directly by the credential.
