N.C. Alarm Systems Provider Performing Well in Long-Term Care Facilities

Amplified Electronic Design in Greensboro, N.C., continues to drive revenue and is expecting to reach $3 million in sales in 2018.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Amplified Electronic Design, an electronic alarm systems provider for long-term care clients, is reportedly expected to generate $2 million in revenue this year.

The company was founded in 2011 and installs badge access control, video surveillance and call systems. Their clients include nursing homes, independent living communities and retirement communities, according to the Triad Business Journal.

The growth of the long-term care space has helped Amplified Electronic Design grow over the years. One particularly effective alarm system is “wander prevention” for patients with dementia, who might try to leave a care facility unescorted.

The company had $1.5 million in sales in 2015, according to president Trey Flake. It hopes to reach $3 million in sales in 2018 with adding three to four new employees in sales and technician roles, according to the report.

Other areas for growth could be badge access systems in retirement facilities, Flake said. “In the nursing home setting, there has been an increase in the desire to have that rather than just a standard keypad code, which is pretty insecure,” he said.
