NBFAA Elects Gunning as Its Next President

SILVER SPRING, Md.

George Gunning, CEO of Monrovia, Calif.’s USA Alarm Systems, has been elected as the next president of the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA). He becomes the first president from a Western state in more than 30 years.

Gunning, the 2004 recipient of the NBFAA’s Morris F. Weinstock “Person of the Year” award, ran uncontested for the office. Gunning, currently a vice president, will assume the presidency in July 2006 after current President Scot Colby’s term ends.

George A. Weinstock, of Encino, Calif., was the last NBFAA member from a Western state to be president of the association, serving from 1973-75.

Also as a result of the 2005 NBFAA Executive Committee elections, Counte Cooley of Gainesville, Ga.’s Electronic Sales Co. was re-elected for a second two-year term as an NBFAA vice president. Also re-elected was Mike Miller of Moon Security Servicers Inc. in Pasco, Wash., who will continue as treasurer.
