Police Chiefs Invite Security Industry to Workshop
PHILADELPHIA
The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) is inviting members of the alarm industry to attend a workshop on law enforcement’s response to monitored alarms, where several approaches to responding to alarms will be explored.
The Oct. 22 conference at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia will explore options for police response, and discuss the positive and negative aspects of each approach. Among the jurisdictions making presentations will be Toronto, Glastonbury, Conn., Charlotte-Mecklenburg, N.C, Montgomery County, Md. and Phoenix.
Each participant will be provided with a CD, which contains numerous IACP publications, an alarm tracking system and the Model Ordinance, which was created jointly between the alarm industry and law enforcement.
The cost of the event is $50, and photo ID is required. To register or for more information, go to www.theiacp.org and click on the Liberty Bell logo.
