Security Stakeholders Make Way to California for ASIS 2015

More than 200 educational sessions, along with numerous networking events, will be presented during ASIS 2015.

The mushrooming specter from cybersecurity breaches and other acts of terrorism – including measures being taken to defend against such attacks – will be of special focus in a series of keynote addresses. The featured speaker lineup will include: Raymond Kelly, former commissioner of the New York Police Department (Sept. 29, 8 a.m.); retired Air Force Gen. Michael Hayden, former head of the National Security Agency and the CIA (Sept. 30, 8 a.m.); and retired Marine Gen. James Mattis, former Commander of the U.S. Joint Forces Command (closing luncheon; Oct. 1, noon).

“When it comes to defending against acts of terror around the globe, ASIS members and other security practitioners are in pivotal positions. It is of paramount importance that both operational and cybersecurity professionals possess the knowledge required to effectively defend and protect people, property and information,” says ASIS President Dave Tyson. “The knowledge, experience and unique perspectives these accomplished leaders have gained over the course of their careers are invaluable to security professionals and the organizations they secure today.”

The ASIS 2015 exhibit floor will be populated with more than 600 companies demonstrating cutting-edge innovations, products and services. Attendees can visit securityexpo.asisonline.org and then click on the “show planner” link for a complete list of exhibitors, plus other relevant details to fashion an event itinerary.

While perusing the show floor, attendees can sit in on a series of poster sessions to learn about security research, practice and innovative applications. More than 35 subject matter experts will present a wide range of topics from across the security spectrum. Presentation details and a complete schedule will be published on the ASIS 2015 mobile app, which can be downloaded on the App Store and Google Play. (BlackBerry and Windows smartphones, and other Web-enabled device users, can visit m.core-apps.com/asis2015 to be directed to the proper download.)

Admission to the keynotes on Sept. 29 and Sept. 30 is included with exhibits registration, plus exhibit floor presentations, the career center and welcome reception. The (ISC)² Security Congress will once again be co-located with the annual Seminar and Exhibits. (ISC)² is the largest not-for-profit membership body of certified information security professionals worldwide. Attendees who register for the ASIS 2015 or (ISC)² Security Congress full education program will have the option to attend both ASIS and (ISC)2 educational sessions, unless otherwise noted.
