CTSI Has Convergence in Its Crosshairs

Founded more than five decades ago, since last year CTSI has acquired as many companies as in all its previous history. Execs detail the company’s rapid accession and discuss key strategies in the latest Security Speaking podcast.

As of this writing the now very prominently covered NFL draft has just concluded. The front offices running all those teams spent months to painstakingly research, evaluate and acquire what they deem the very best available talent to help them win.

That scenario plays out in similar fashion within the security and fire systems installation world, with owners and operators of those businesses often meticulously and diligently scanning the landscape to target company acquisition targets to help them win. And as in the NFL, there always seems to be some organizations that consistently do it better than others and always seem to land the stars.

CTSI is such an organization. Founded more than 50 years ago as commercial low-voltage integrator Corbett Technology Systems Inc., fortified with private equity capital since 2017 the Chantilly, Va.-headquartered firm has gone on a head-spinning acquisition tear.

To gain an inside vantage of CTSI’s rapid ascension, SSI Editor-in-Chief Scott Goldfine spoke with CEO Joe Oliveri, Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions Sergio Katz and Vice President BD, Communications & Corporate Marketing Alan Rosenkoff.

The execs tackle a number of topics, including:

  • M&A strategy
  • Optimizing synergies
  • Overcoming supply chain challenges
  • Cross-selling opportunities
  • Prioritizing subscription-based services

You can watch the full conversation in the latest edition of Security Speaking below, or listen or download it directly from SSI. You can also listen to it via your streaming platform of choice. A condensed version of the discussion can be read here.
