Processor Combines Evaluation Module for High Def Recording
Houston-based TexasInstruments Inc. announces its embedded DaVinci™processor combined with a complete digital video evaluation module. TheDM355 provides high definition (HD) video performance and ultralow-power consumption for portable, HD video/imaging products, doublingthe battery life, according to the company.
The product consists of an integrated video processingsubsystem, MPEG-4 JPEG co-processor (MJCP), and ARM core andperipherals.The processor provides HD MPEG-4 SP encoder or decoder at 720 pixelsand 30 fps. The processing subsystem integrates a preview engine,histogram, resize and on-screen display all in hardware.
