Avigilon to Preview AI Video Search Engine at ISC West 2018

Avigilon Appearance Search technology is designed to make searching video as easy as searching the internet, according to the company.

SSI spoke to Avigilon Vice President of Global Marketing & Communications Willem Ryan about what the company is bringing to this year’s show. Find them at booth 22031.

What is the top product or offering your company is showing off at ISC West this year, and what makes it unique or special?

Avigilon will be featuring some of our most innovative video, artificial intelligence (AI), video analytics, Cloud technology and access control solutions at ISC West 2018.

We are excited to showcase our recently launched Avigilon Blue Cloud service platform for security and surveillance. The platform allows partners to remotely connect to, manage and service more customer sites with fewer resources. For customers, Avigilon Blue provides easy and secure system access, smart notifications, system upgrades and new features that will be pushed directly from the Cloud.

Harnessing patented Avigilon self-learning video analytics, Avigilon Blue utilizes real-time alarm notifications to bring attention to the events that matter most. The system integrates an on-premise Avigilon Blue Connect device that supports local storage as well as Avigilon and ONVIF compliant cameras, and sends critical events to the Cloud for users to view and verify from their web-connected device.

We will also be previewing a new expansion to the Avigilon Blue platform – the Avigilon Control Center (ACC) System Health Monitoring service, which is designed to help Avigilon Partners proactively monitor and maintain the performance of their customers’ ACC systems. It will feature an easy-to-use dashboard with event warnings that enable remote diagnosis of server and camera status.

Avigilon Partners will be able to check in on customer sites without having to deploy a technician and assess health notifications prior to arriving on site, saving valuable time and resources so they can support more customer sites.

What other products or offerings would you like to highlight, and what are some of their unique qualities?

Avigilon will be previewing the upcoming enhancement to our award-winning Avigilon Appearance Search technology – an AI search engine that is designed to make searching video as easy as searching the internet. With this latest enhancement, users will be able to select certain physical descriptions, such as hair and clothing color, gender and age, and within seconds, find a person of interest, helping to dramatically improve incident response times.

We will also be previewing the new and upcoming H4 Video Intercom secured entry system, which is designed to help improve security and simplify everyday operations for security staff in applications such as retail stores, offices, hotels and educational facilities.

The H4 Video Intercom integrates a 3 MP camera with a high-performance intercom and features exceptional wide dynamic range, low-light, noise reduction and echo-cancelling technologies for clear viewing and two-way communication with visitors.

Combined with Avigilon Control Center video management software, this secured entry system enables operators to quickly and easily identify and communicate with a visitor before remotely granting access.

Additionally, we will be showcasing Avigilon Unusual Motion Detection (UMD) technology, an advanced AI technology that brings a new level of automation to surveillance and is designed to reveal events that may have otherwise been missed.

Without any predefined rules or setup, UMD technology is able to continuously learn what typical activity in a scene looks like, and then detect and flag unusual motion. This allows operators to search through large amounts of footage faster, as UMD focuses their attention on the atypical events that may need further investigation, helping to reduce hours of work to minutes.

Avigilon will also be featuring the latest additions to our H4 platform, including the H4 Mini Dome, Avigilon’s smallest and most discreet camera within the H4 platform and the H4 IR PTZ and H4 Thermal camera lines, which are designed to address challenging lighting conditions.
