ISC Solutions to Emphasize Vertical Market Needs

NEW YORK — Goodbye ISC East. Hello ISC Solutions.

Reed Exhibitions will unveil its rebranded conference Nov. 3-4 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York. Officially announced in March, the event’s producers describe ISC Solutions as an end-of-year counterpart to ISC West.

Long geared toward installing security contractors in the Northeast, the event is now intended to provide a stage for manufacturers to present solutions and applications to end-user customers, says Ed Nichols, Reed’s Industry Vice President.

“It was critical that we reposition the ISC East event, updating it in order to continue to be relevant to the needs of the security industry,” Nichols says. “As needs change and security challenges become more complex, a solutions-focused event that presents a wide array is even more critical.”

Educational programming for security dealers and systems integrators will remain a focal point of ISC Solutions, says Nichols, who describes members of the installation community as “a vital part of the security channel continuum.”

Reed has again partnered with PSA Security Network to offer a series of intensive educational sessions. The paid curriculum includes, “Key Considerations for Healthcare Security and Access Control”; “The Essentials of Campus Safety & Security”; “Securing Critical Infrastructure, Government and Mass Transit Facilities”; and “Remote Video Monitoring: The Real Solution.”

End users can choose from a broad assortment of free educational sessions that have been jointly developed with several partners, including SSI sister publication Campus Safety Magazine. There will be two Solutions Theaters located in the center of the exhibit hall where speakers from the electronic security industry, law enforcement, security directors and other security professionals will describe top challenges and actionable strategies in various market niches.

Presented for the first time will be the Solutions at Work Case Study Forum, which aims to provide real-world examples of security systems and solutions. Numerous organizations from around the nation submitted proposals to feature their security solutions in the health-care, education, government and non-governmental vertical markets.

Even the show floor has been rethought to fit the event’s new format. Exhibits will be segmented by technology/application type, while a centralized “solutions hub” will serve as a resource center incorporating speaking venues, appointment meeting space and other offerings to better serve attendees. SSI will be exhibiting at Booth No. 1066.

“We are quite confident that the industry will embrace the repositioning of ISC East into ISC Solutions,” says Richard Chace, CEO of the Security Industry Association (SIA), the event’s sponsor. “The security industry not only needs a venue to present new products and technologies, it also needs the guidance to best apply them in appropriate solutions for the challenges faced by today’s security professionals.”
