NBFAA Asks State Assn. Leaders to Contribute $100 Apiece to CARE

SILVER SPRING, Md.—The National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) has sent a challenge letter out to the heads of its Chartered State Associations (CSAs) urging them to each donate $100 directly to the Alarm Industry Research & Education Foundation’s (AIREF) Coordinated Alarm Reduction Effort (CARE).

The association hopes these direct pledges will also spur CSAs and their members to participate in the ADI Check-Off Program. The program channels 0.5 percent of every dollar a dealer pays to his or her ADI distributor to CARE. ADI’s program is open to NBFAA members and nonmembers alike.

NBFAA’s goals are to receive up to $5,000 per month in ADI Check-Off contributions and $30,000 for all of 2000 in direct contributions.

Meanwhile, NBFAA reports that a pair of CSA leaders has completed successful efforts to spur donations for CARE. John Knox, NBFAA board representative and president of the Tennessee Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (TBFAA), received 21 ADI Check-Off Program pledge cards from Tennessee members, setting a new record in pledges obtained from a state association.

Dan Budinoff, president of the Connecticut Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (CBFAA) gathered 20 pledges from his association’s membership. For more information, call (301) 585-1855 or (972) 377-9401, visit your nearest ADI location, or log on to www.adilink.com or www.airef.org
