Mission 500 Raises $18K at Expo Seguridad Mexico

With the help of its partner World Vision, Mission 500, a nonprofit security industry initiative, raised $18,600 at Expo Seguridad Mexico (ESM) for children and communities in crisis.

Mission 500 was able to raise the funds through various events at the recent expo, such as a raffle, an awards dinner, merchandise selling and community service.

A 42-inch LCD television donation helped sell $1,100 worth of raffle tickets at the opening evening cocktail reception.

The following evening, an ESM-hosted awards dinner raised $10,000 from ticket sales alone. An auctioned off iPad added another $1,500 to the fundraising total. Additionally, organizers sold ESM merchandise which raised another $1,000.

The day after the show, Alan Forman, president of Altronix, and Glenn Patrizio, director of sales for LRG Int’l, joined George and Andrea Fletcher to visit a World Vision project in Tulpetlac, Mexico. The local community center helps to support mothers and children who live in areas with no water or electricity in many of the homes.

“It was a very humbling and satisfying day for all of us to be able to spread some cheer in this community,” says Patrizio.

After the visit Giprex, the organizers of Expo Seguridad Mexico, committed another $5,000 to help the program.

So far this year, Mission 500 has raised more than $70,000 through charitable efforts such as the run for Haiti in Miami, Security 5K at ISC West in Las Vegas and functions held during ESM.
