ORLANDO, Fla. — Safe Zone, based here, announces that Anixter Int’l is now distributing the Safe Zone Gunfire Detection System product line in North America.
According to Safe Zone President Mike Anderson, the Anixter agreement is the latest in a series of strategic moves to provide the company with maximum support across the verticals that benefit most from installing the solution: K-12 education, higher education, houses of worship, retail, hospitality and corporate.
“Anixter will play a key role in providing us with an extended footprint that is supported by superior local market expertise,” Anderson states in the announcement. “Anixter is a strong addition to our national distribution channel and is known for their outreach and support to key vertical customers.”
In addition to Anixter, the company’s gunfire detection system is available through ADI, Wesco and many other mid-market regional distributors.
The Safe Zone Gunfire Detection System is billed as a stand-alone, affordable, automated indoor gunfire detection system that provides actionable intelligence to law enforcement, first responders, and onsite personnel within seconds of a gunshot.
Safe Zone’s patent-pending gunfire detection system combines state-of-the-art detection hardware with leading-edge Cloud-based, machine-learning capabilities to provide crucial information including type of the weapon, the number of shots fired, and the shooter’s location. The manufacturer’s open API is said to enable easy integration with third-party systems, like an alarm or access control system for a complete emergency solution.
Wesco Int’l (NYSE: WCC) completed its acquisition of Anixter in June, to form the largest wholesale distributor of electrical products in North America.
