ADT Commercial Earns Gold Medallion Award for Hiring Military Veterans

The award certifies that more than 7% of ADT Commercial’s new hires for the 2021 calendar year were military veterans, with 75% retained as employees for 12 months.

BOCA RATON, Fla. — ADT Commercial announces that, for the first time since its inception, the company has received the HIRE Vets Gold Medallion Award for 2022. Presented by the U.S. Department of Labor, the award recognizes ADT for its dedication to employing U.S. military service members and is part of the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act of 2017.

The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is the only federal-level veterans’ employment award recognizing a company or organization’s commitment to veteran hiring, retention and professional development. Since its inception in 2018, more than 1,400 employers have earned a HIRE Vets Medallion Award.

As a recipient of the award, ADT Commercial has met rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans.

“To be awarded Gold Medallion status is such an amazing accomplishment and a testament to the years of work our teams and leaders have put in to give our nation’s heroes a path forward and long-term career in their civilian lives,” says Zack Morris, director, commercial career programs, ADT Commercial.

The company’s receipt of the Gold Medallion in the Large Employer category (more than 500 employees) certifies that more than 7% of its new hires for the 2021 calendar year were military veterans, with 75% retained as employees for 12 months. The company retained 90% of veteran hires made in 2021.

The organization was presented with the award in a virtual ceremony on Nov. 9 by U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh, alongside 835 separate recipients.

ADT Showcases a Continued Commitment to Veteran Advancement

In an effort to foster an environment that would attract former servicemembers to a civilian career in the security industry, ADT and ADT Commercial continue to champion a number of veteran integration assistance programs to ensure the inclusion and success of military employees within the organization, the announcement states.

This includes the Veterans Business Employee Resource Group (BERG), which supports a proud community of those ADT employees currently serving in the military, veterans of all branches and their supporters to create a culture of camaraderie and development.

The organization has also launched a 12-month Leadership Development Program open to all employees, where select individuals are afforded the opportunity to expand their leadership skillsets through hands-on training, mentorship and career development with internal executives and outside consultants. Each class for the program aims to welcome several current or former military servicemembers to join the cohort.
