Event Preview: ISC East to Offer Hands-on Deep Dive Into Industry Trends

Find out everything that’s going on at ISC East this week, as well as the addition of the Unmanned Security & Safety Expo to next year’s show.

NEW YORK – The 2017 installment of ISC East (Nov. 15-16) for the first time will present a series of hands-on workshops that are intended to provide valuable information and insights into the most current business trends, technologies and new developments in security.

Subject matter experts from across the industry will share best practices on numerous topics. Session include:

  • “Creating Intelligent Physical Security Products Using AI and Deep Learning”
  • “You Told Them We Could Do What? Getting Your Sales Team and Installers on the Same Page”
  • “You Own the Door, Don’t Leave Dollars at the Threshold!”
  • “Decreasing the Surface Area: Cyber Hardening for Video Surveillance.”

The workshops are part of the learning opportunities throughout the event, including more than 20 free sessions presented under the SIA Education@ISC East Program banner. With curriculum designed specifically for the Northeast market, industry experts will cover such topics as best practices in sales management, RMR opportunities with outdoor security, social media analytical training, GSA Schedule contracting and more.

Among exhibit floor activities, the second annual Tech Tank@ISC East will showcase six chosen vendors demoing their product or service on the Education Theater state.

Finalists will be selected via application by a team of independent industry experts. Vendors will have seven minutes to demo their product, then audience members will cast votes to select a winner.

Raymond Kelly, the longest serving commissioner in the history of the New York City Police Department, will deliver a keynote address on the 15th at 2 p.m.

This year’s celebrity appearance is the duo of Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs, former NY Giants running backs who will be shaking hands and taking pictures with attendees.

Unmanned Security & Safety Expo Comes to ISC East 2018

Reed Exhibitions, the event’s organizer, just announced the Unmanned Security & Safety Expo New York will be co-located with ISC East 2018 at the Javits Center Nov. 14 – 15.

The all-new event is focused on drones & robotics for commercial and government security and safety use-cases and drone detection/anti-drone solutions.

According to a press release, 67% of ISC’s traditional audience is interested in evaluating unmanned technology products, and 75% of attendees are interested in learning more about ongoing FAA adaptions to UAV regulations and policies.
