Western Digital of Irvine, Calif., has combined its My Cloud EX2 and My Cloud EX4 multi-bay network attached storage (NAS) solutions with Smartvue surveillance software to enable remote video monitoring and management of IP cameras.
By installing the Smartvue app within the apps feature of the My Cloud dashboard, the My Cloud EX products convert into a powerful video surveillance system capable of supporting up to eight cameras from one web portal, according to the company.
Additionally, the Smartvue mobile app, provides viewing and management of camera footage recorded on the My Cloud EX products, as well as remote monitoring of live feeds from the cameras. The Smartvue surveillance app also allows users to set automated alerts, motion detection, recording schedules and more.
