Minneapolis’ Low Voltage Contractors (LVC) fosters a company culture of respect supported by a commitment to technical training and the safety of employees. Its customer care approach is based on delivering above what is promised, keeping its word, responding in a timely manner, taking ownership of work, promptly making corrections when needed, never taking short cuts, always determining satisfaction before leaving a jobsite and continuously working toward strong relationships.

LVC’s 90 employees generate $18 million annually, and in 2013 the firm made the seventh annual Inc. 500|5000, a ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies.

“Our outstanding growth rate of an average 20% the past 11 years proves our approach is working,” says LVC President & CEO Bob Hoertsch, who joined the company in 1987. “Exceptional people are the key to our success. At LVC, our employees offer a strong balance of leading-edge technology and premier service with a commitment to complete customer satisfaction. A large portion of our growth is from repeat business, and many of our customers request the same LVC teams for their future projects. Our service technicians average more than 10 years of experience and we respond to service calls 24/7.”

A strong current of unity and teamwork permeates LVC that is reflected in other top initiatives that include staff training, morale-boosting activities, and industry and community involvement. The company participates in weekly JATC Toolbox Talks training to keep safety awareness topics top of mind. The firm tripled active participation in the program in 2013, with 40+ employees stringing together 50 consecutive weeks.

“We do a number of things to keep our employees motivated and fulfilled,” says LVC Marketing Manager Robbie Danko. “The first and most important is to acknowledge that our employees are the most important part of our business. We do it publicly and boldly. Every employee at LVC knows that they are the reason we have a growing company with an outstanding reputation.”
