Doyle Security Expands in New York With CIA Security Buy

The purchase will result in 7,500 new customers for Doyle Security, representing the largest acquisition in the company’s 100-year history.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Doyle Security Systems, based here, has acquired the customer accounts of Commercial Instruments & Alarm Systems (CIA Security), a privately held company based in Fishkill, N.Y.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The purchase will result in 7,500 new customers for Doyle Security, representing the largest acquisition in the company’s 100-year history.

The acquisition significantly expands Doyle’s geographic scope and reach in New York State. The company will retain the current CIA offices in Fishkill and Catskill, N.Y. Along with its existing headquarters, Doyle operates New York branch offices in Albany, Syracuse and Buffalo, and Erie, Pa.,

Doyle Security will retain 56 CIA employees, according to an announcement.

CIA Security was established in 1979 by its Founder and President John Lombardi, who is a 2017 inductee to the SSI Industry Hall of Fame. Lombardi built a reputation for providing the Hudson Valley with reliable, cost-effective, integrated security solutions for the past 40 years, according to the announcement.

Lombardi will remain with Doyle Security with regional leadership responsibilities.

“It is with pride and confidence that we share this news,” says Lombardi. “I have no doubt that the incredible team at Doyle will continue to treat our customers and employees with the immense care and compassion that we have for the last 40 years.”

Doyle Security President and CEO John G. Doyle Jr. describes the acquisition as “a momentous day” for the company, a regional provider of residential and commercial security, fire and medical monitoring systems.

“We have known and admired both John and his company for many years, having worked side by side in state and national industry associations. We are extremely proud to combine forces with an industry leader of John’s caliber and his talented team at CIA,” he says. “They are the preeminent security service in the Hudson Valley and the potential synergies of our two companies is tremendous. I am confident that there is so much we can accomplish together.”
