ESSC Acquires Commercial Fire Accounts From Frase Protection
ESSC is a licensed low-voltage contractor in Tennessee and Mississippi, and also licensed in Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi to install and service electronic security equipment.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Electronic Security Specialists (ESSC), based here, has purchased the required commercial fire alarm accounts from Frase Protection, one of the largest privately owned wireless security systems providers in the greater Memphis area.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1987, ESSC is a licensed low-voltage contractor in Tennessee and Mississippi, and also licensed in Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi to install and service electronic security equipment, including fire and intrusion alarms, video surveillance systems and access control systems.
ESSC has experience in a vast array of commercial environments and specializes in Bosch Security and Safety Systems and Sielox access control equipment.
“Although Frase Protection has served both residential and commercial customers in the past, they have focused mainly in recent years on wireless residential and very small commercial alarm systems,” says Jim Turner, president, ESSC. “They were ready to sell their required commercial fire alarm accounts, and ESSC was the natural choice to purchase them.”
A required commercial fire alarm system — one that is mandated by the local fire department to obtain a use permit for a building — is typically quite complex and serviced by highly trained technicians. ESSC is uniquely positioned to take on this type of customer base, according to an announcement.
“Frase Protection’s business model has been tailored more to the wireless residential and small commercial market over the last several years,” says Frase Protection President Jonathan Frase. “ESSC’s purchase of our larger fire alarm accounts made good business sense for each of our companies. I know our customers will be in very capable hands with ESSC, and this transaction will allow Frase to focus more intently on our wireless residential services.”
