Guardian Alarm Purchases Cleveland-Based Sievers Security

Guardian says its existing Cleveland branch combined with Sievers’ business will allow for it to become one of the largest providers of security and fire alarm services in the region.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — Guardian Alarm, a Midwest residential and commercial fire, security and automation systems provider, announces it has acquired Sievers Security.

Founded in 1957, Sievers Security serves thousands of residential and commercial customers in the Cleveland area. Its business combined with Guardian’s existing branch location in Cleveland will allow for the combined companies to become one of the largest providers of security and fire alarm services in the region, according to the announcement.

“We are incredibly excited to team up with the employees and customers of Sievers Security,” says Guardian Alarm President and CEO Brent Uhl. “Sievers Security has a fantastic reputation in the Cleveland metro area and has been a leader in their communities for decades. With our combined companies, we will be able to offer a broader range of security and fire alarm options to existing and future customers while continuing to provide a great customer experience.”

Robert Sievers, owner of Sievers Security, comments, “Guardian Alarm has a great reputation in security monitoring services. Since the start of Sievers Security, our goal has been to deliver high-quality home and business security monitoring services with superior customer service and value. We are confident these high standards will continue under Guardian’s ownership.”

Uhl adds, “Over the past few years, Guardian Alarm has been on an aggressive growth strategy both organically and through strategic acquisitions. Sievers Security is a great compliment to our broader strategy of accelerating our growth of subscribers and revenue over the next several years.”

It truly would have been nice for Sievers Security to send out notification to their existing customers, instead of receiving a bill from Guardian.
And how about Guardian sending out a letter of welcome.
    NO MANNERS.

I’ve tried to contact Guardian 3 times once holding for 10 minutes to set up auto pay. I can probably do that online but their phone # gives an option to contact customer service. Read the online Guardian announcement. Nothing nothing about service to customers just their increased numbers.
Looking for another security company. I loved Sievers. This company is appears to just be out for profits.
Looking for a new security company.

Life means change…sorry to see ‘em go, but the hand-off
was smooth, other than the surprise bill [no change in monitoring
fee…]. Did get a mailer announcing the succession. Thank you❗️
Calling in for help to monitoring service ( at same number as before)
was slightly different. An automated voice asks customer to choose option “1” to get a live Tech. or call again during daylight business hours.
We tried a call into monitoring number { during the day} to confirm they still had us on the list. Original account p/w still worked. Tech. recognized our alarm system doing a ‘test fault’ , OK.
Don’t know if this was a turn-key takeover, retaining local equipment & personnel, or if it all runs from Chicago, home
town of Guardian. Hoping LOCAL COMPANY service people
retained for residential house-calls…rather than contract ‘stringers’
    w/o security credentials, etc.

Actually had a silent alarm go out from our home last week when
we accidentally opened the front door with the system ‘armed for
the night,’ and Guardian called back pronto.
“NOTHING WORKS UNTILL IT’S TESTED”, my old boss used to say.

Sorry to see Sievers go. Had good service for ~4 years, since they
took over our account from Forthofer Alarm Systems back then.

We to, will have to contact Guardian Customer Service to restore automatic payment of monthly bill.

Guardian has been around since 1920-30’s, so we are hoping for
continuing good service & peace-of-mind. We found Sievers when
our prior alarm outfit, of 20 years!, started bumping the monitoring fee.
Hope we don’t have to start shopping around again with Guardian.
Monopolies tend to work that way…

Not very Professional of Sievers to sell and not even notify their customers. Called Guardian, sat on the phone 11 minutes and never even spoke to anyone. Who is monitoring the phones and my home??Had to listen to their sales spiel the whole time. It was like calling Walmart or Home Depot! Good Greif! No option to speak to customer service. Don’t trust them to look after my security issues. Looking for a new security company. Terrible Service.
