NSi Industries Acquires SullStar to Expand Low-Voltage Portfolio
SullStar Technologies, a provider of datacom and telecom installation tools and connectors, will be folded into Platinum Tools.
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — NSi Industries, a leading provider of electrical and control products, has acquired SullStar Technologies, expanding its product portfolio in the low-voltage product market.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The SullStar portfolio will be branded under NSi’s Platinum Tools division.
Based in Simi Valley, Calif., SullStar Technologies designs patented tools and connectors for the datacom and telecom markets. The company has partnered for years with Platinum Tools for the distribution and sales of its products.
SullStar’s specialty electrical products include crimp tools, punchdown tools and connectors. The company has more than 60 patents worldwide.
“SullStar is the inventor of numerous global patents in and around the low-voltage tools and connectors space,” states G.R. Schrotenboer, CEO, NSi Industries. “This acquisition ties together the sales and development of two businesses into one, further strengthening our leadership position in the low-voltage market.”
As part of the overall acquisition, NSi will gain ownership and work on maintaining and enforcing SullStar’s current patents. SullStar’s product portfolio consists of high-value items that feature unique characteristics to better meet professional low-voltage installers’ needs, according to an announcement.
“This acquisition allows a long-standing partnership to come together, bringing tremendous value to Platinum Tools and the market,” says Rob Sullivan, owner, SullStar Technologies. “NSi is an industry leader with tremendous resources and reach. We’re pleased to be joining a company that has the same dedication to offering the best quality products that bring installation ease and efficiency to customers.”
In addition to NSi’s acquisition of Platinum Tools in March, which expanded its market reach into the datacom market, the company also acquired electrical products manufacturer Bridgeport Fittings in August.
