Technology Install Partners Expands Commercial Portfolio With Security Designs Buy

Security Designs is an authorized Honeywell Integrated Security Silver Certified Integrator, specializing in commercial access control and security systems.

CLEVELAND — Security and fire/life-safety systems provider Technology Install Partners has acquired Security Designs, a leading provider of commercial access control and security systems based in Livonia, Mich., near Detroit.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Technology Install Partners, based here, has more than 500 clients throughout Ohio and Michigan, serving a variety of industries, including healthcare, senior living, industrial, schools, manufacturing and nonprofit organizations. Founded in 2008 with four employees, the company currently employs 26 full-time staff and will be adding 10 new employees with the acquisition of Security Designs.

“Leveraging our combined customer base will enable us to quickly add new staff in both Ohio and Michigan by the end of the year,” says Ryan Temple, president of Technology Install Partners.

Chris Lipinksi, who founded the company more than 35 years ago, says he is excited about what the future holds with the acquisition. “By expanding our service offering to include nurse call, fire suppression and structured cabling, we enable our clients the ability to create a more cohesive safety and security plan, with lower costs and fewer coordination issues,” he says.

Temple says he is currently in conversations to acquire companies in Indianapolis and Albuquerque, N.M. “Our plan is to bring our comprehensive approach to safety and security to clients across the country,” he says. “With this expansion, we will grow not only our company, but provide job opportunities to skilled employees in other regions.”

Technology Install Partners’ core offering includes video surveillance, access control, fire/security alarms, fiber, nurse call and structured cabling and carry’s more than 50 manufacturer’s product lines. The company was awarded its first GSA contract (#GS‐07F‐0346V) in 2009, and claims to be the only GSA low voltage life-safety and security installation contractor in Northeast Ohio.
