Why Security Pros Should Pay Attention to CEDIA Expo 2019

CEDIA 2019 marks the first year the event will offer a security-focused pavilion on the exhibition show floor.

CEDIA Expo, which is owned by SSI’s parent company, Emerald Expositions, will be held Sept 10-14 at Denver’s Colorado Convention Center. The event is considered the premier platform to engage the home technology ecosystem.

More than 20,000 home tech professionals and over 500 exhibitors convene each year, providing attendees a venue to see the lastest products and breakthrough innovations. Residential security pros take note: 2019 marks the first year the event will offer a security-focused pavilion on the exhibition show floor.

You’ll find companies such as Nortek Security & Control, Axis, Kwikset, Resideo, Speco, Viking Electronics and many more exhibiting.

CEDIA Expo is also a leading provider of educational programming for the channel. The educational conference lineup at this year’s show will include more than 125 classes, 50% of them brand new and covering 17 different areas of expertise.

“We are introducing many more intermediate and advanced courses in our offerings, as well as continuing to offer the foundational classes intended for newer entrants to the industry,” says Tom Darling, senior vice president, education and certification, CEDIA. “More than half of the new courses we are offering fall in the advanced or intermediate level and for the first time we are offering an in-person new hire training track.”

The New Hire Training track offered onsite is designed to help home tech integrators earn CEDIA’s Electronic Systems Certification.

Security pros may also be interested in checking out the event’s TechTalks, a moderated series of inspiring and educational talks from connected technology experts who share insights into what the future holds for the custom integration industry.

The TechTalks installments are presented by SSI sister publication CE Pro and focus on timely topics sponsored by manufacturers from all sectors of the smart home industry. For more details, visit cediaexpo.com.
