ASIS Int’l Bestows 2017 Accolades Award Winners
A team of judges representing end users and experts in security technologies evaluated all ASIS Accolades entries to pick this year’s winners.
Pelco by Schneider Electric took home the Accolades Awards' People’s Choice honor for the VideoXpert Professional video management system.
DALLAS — ASIS Int’l has selected its 2017 ASIS Accolades Award winners. The awards competition aims to recognize the security industry’s most innovative new products, services and solutions.
The winners — save for the People’s Choice Award — were recognized at the morning keynote on Sept. 26 at the 63rd Annual ASIS Int’l Seminar & Exhibits in Dallas.
Attendees voted on the People’s Choice Award between Sept. 26-27, and the winner was announced at the Sept. 28 morning keynote.
“This year, I am truly inspired by the level of innovation and achievement entrants have demonstrated,” says Tom Langer, CPP, President, ASIS International. “Their leadership and expertise are reshaping the security landscape and driving our industry to new heights.”

Cobalt, an intelligent security robot, patrols autonomously, building models of ‘normal’ and flagging anomalies — people, open doors, suspicious items, water, unusual sounds, etc. It responds autonomously or allows remote pilots to have 2-way video chats for real-time response.
People’s Choice

VideoXpert Professional
The VideoXpert ProfessionalVMS provides a superior user interface and robust features previously only available in enterprise versions, says the company. The product is tailored for small to mid-size installations of up to 100 cameras and includes IT-friendly windows and menus for setup and maintenance.

AXIS D2050-VE Network Radar Detector is an outdoor motion detector with radar technology that can provide perimeter protection and decrease false alarms. Axis says the product will compliment existing surveillance solutions in smaller outdoor areas that need monitoring after-hours.

MIC IP Fusion 9000i cameras combine a rugged design with intelligent video analytics for “demanding environments.” Metadata fusion fuses metadata from the built-in optical and thermal imagers. The camera can detect an alarm source that is not visible in the stream being watched and alert the user.

The Brownout Buddy is a 60W, POE injector designed to perform the functions of a conventional injector while ensuring a consistent power supply to edge devices.

Dedrone
The Dedrone platform is a counterdrone solution that uses multi-sensor hardware to identify drones through visual, acoustic and frequency sensors. Noise, movement, silhouette and RF/Wi-Fi signals are processed and evaluated with DroneTracker software. It can then classify approaching drones and trigger alarms to alert security staff.
