Qolsys IQ Panel Achieves UL1610 Certification for Commercial Burglary Standard

Enabled by the Alarm.com commercial services platform, the IQ Panel 2 Plus certification feature sets include four partitions and new PowerG devices.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Qolsys, a leading provider of security and smart home technology, announces it has received UL 1610 certification for commercial burglary, opening small business and commercial opportunities for dealers using the IQ Panel 2 Plus.

The latest 2.3 over-the-air software update adds features specific to business use cases including up to four partitions, screen lock, six-digit passcodes and additional support for PowerG sensors and secondary keypads.

The 2.3 commercial software update also enables Alarm.com for Business, a leading interactive services platform integrating smart business security, access control, smart video monitoring and energy management technology. The update allows for application use cases ranging from a large commercial space to a small residential townhome, says Mike Hackett, Qolsys senior vice president of sales and marketing.

“I’ve been using the IQ Panel 2 Plus with PowerG sensors to secure elementary schools in our region,” Scott McLeod, owner, Hawkeye Security of Weyburn, SK, Canada, states in the announcement. “We originally bid our installs to take three days and are now completing most jobs in 10 hours or less, and that includes customer training. My team spends less time on ladders and more time talking about features and benefits with our customers, and we have never been more profitable.”

Robert Post, owner of Post Alarm Systems of Arcadia, Calif., also lauds the IQ Panel in the announcement. “We are proud to bring our commercial customers a best in class solution combining the Qolsys IQ Panel with PowerG sensors and the Alarm.com commercial interactive services with dedicated Post Alarm service and support.”

PowerG’s two-way wireless communication technology is designed to decrease operational costs for dealers while providing ultimate reliability for end users, according to the announcement. PowerG devices reliably communicate 4x further than legacy wireless security, reducing the cost of installing additional repeaters to service commercial premises.

The wireless protocol includes multichannel, frequency hopping spread spectrum technology, adaptive transmission power for up to eight years of battery life and 128-bit AES encryption for exceptional protection against digital attacks.
