During his “Leading Change for Any Size Business” presentation, Select Security President Steve Firestone discussed initiatives he has implemented since joining the company in 2012 in an effort to “re-engineer” its operating practices. This has included adopting a cascade process for corporate, department and individual contributor alignment. Cascading is the term used to describe the way that a corporate strategic direction is broken down into the contributions that each part of the organization can make to achieve those overarching strategic goals.
“Make sure you are investing not only in your best players, but also the employees at the bottom of the [organizational chart],” he said.
