Seth Denson, principal and co-founder of GDP Advisors, led the “Competing for Talent” session, during which he stressed, “There is no silver bullet for finding the best talent. Every company might have a different silver bullet.”
During the job interviewing process, Denson advises that managers articulate to a potential candidate in detail the structure for advancement at the company. “Explain to them, ‘Here is the pathway to success and here is how we will support you to be successful.‘”
Also key, he said, to holding onto quality employees: “Try to identify the reasons why your employees may want to leave your company and work to eliminate those reasons.”
