How Indiana Alarm Won the 2019 SAMMY Award for Best Brochure

Indiana Alarm’s sales brochure is used by reps during in-home consultations and is kept on-hand at trade shows or local home shows.

At 20 pages Indiana Alarm’s sales brochure might seem lengthy, but its easy-to-digest sections and colorful graphics make it one that other security dealers can emulate.

The Indianapolis company prioritizes the layout’s sections to highlight various security and smart home technologies; details about system platforms (PowerSeries Neo, and associated products (such as Dahua cameras, Qolsys alarm panels); monitoring options and pricing; and packages spelling out what’s included at different tiers plus pricing.

The cover includes elements that prospective residential customers can relate to: beautiful house, family sharing a laugh while looking at a mobile device, and a cellphone app being used.

“Security Solutions for the Smart Home,” is the title below, and Indiana Alarm’s logo and contact information is above, so customers know who’s going to provide them the peace of mind conveyed in the images. On page 3 is the elevator pitch — who we are, what differentiates us, why you can trust us, what you can expect from our services and solutions.

“Our prices and customer service rival that of any of the ‘big named’ security companies in the market . . . We offer free home visits for estimates with a no-pressure presentation,” the verbiage assures prospects.

Icons along the right side of the page underscore the messaging by emphasizing: no long-term contacts, local, BBB accredited, 24/7 support, TMA Five Diamond-certified central station. At the bottom, Indiana Alarm tells customers, “Call us, a company and family that cares,” reiterating its standing as being locally owned and operated.

“We always like to have a brief description of our company and values upfront as an introduction into Indiana Alarm,” says Office Manager Allie Bell.

Along the way through the brochure, security customers will see enticements that go beyond alarms and cameras; they’ll see terms and learn about home automation, lighting control, energy management, smart thermostat, etc., and see the smart home side of the equation.
