Dish Launches Professional Smart Home Installation Service

OnTech Smart Services is Dish’s new direct-to-consumer brand that offers professional installation, set-up and education of a variety of smart home devices.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Dish announces the launch of a new direct-to-consumer brand, OnTech Smart Services.

The installation service, which initially rolled out to new homebuyers last year as part of KB Home’s KB Smart Home System, stands to compete with Geek Squad and Amazon Smart Home Services, by providing a broader scope of consumers with professional installation, set-up and education of a variety of smart home devices.

This isn’t Dish’s first attempt at delivering this type of service to consumers. In addition to its involvement with KB Home, it launched its Smart Home Services to customers of its satellite television service in 2011, expanding its offerings to include TV mounting, surround sound and home networking.

In 2015, select Dish Smart Home Services launched in the Amazon Marketplace. Now, with the introduction of OnTech Smart Services, Dish is broadening its reach even further and offering an even wider assortment of products and services.

OnTech Smart Services Offers Google Nest, Ring, Yale, More

Some of the products offered to OnTech customers include Google Nest, Ring, Linksys, Wemo, Roku, Yale, Polk Audio, Klipsch Audio and the Velop Whole Home Mesh WiFi System from Linksys.

Consumers can purchase these and other smart home products and services online directly from OnTechSmartServices.com and schedule delivery and installation appointments as soon as the same day.

Appointments include one-on-one training from a professional technician on how to operate and personalize their new smart home products.

Also offered as part of the service are TV mounting, power relocation, fishing wires, cord management, digital TV antenna installation and more.

“OnTech connects a growing group of consumers who want the convenience of a smart home, but don’t have the time or know-how to get the most out of the latest devices,” says Nick Rossetti, senior vice president of OnTech Smart Services.

“Our goal is to connect people with things to make life easier and technology more accessible.”

Initial 11 Markets

OnTech launches in 11 major markets initially, with additional expansion expected. Here are the first 11:

  • Atlanta
  • Dallas/Ft. Worth
  • Denver
  • Houston
  • Kansas City
  • Los Angeles
  • New York
  • Sacramento
  • Salt Lake City
  • San Francisco
  • St. Louis

Dish handpicked and professionally trained the OnTech technicians from its In-Home Services group. As an authorized service provider for its partner brands, OnTech technicians receive individual training from manufacturers of each device in the OnTech product portfolio.

Are you offering these types of smart home services to customers? If not, you could be leaving money on the table.
